About — My Story
I've been in recruitment for 25 years. The last two taught me the most.

How it started
I fell into recruiting for recruiters early in my career and never looked back. It combined everything I liked about the job — deep sector knowledge, honest relationships, and a genuine interest in what makes people tick and what makes specialist recruitment businesses grow.
I set up Feeling Ambitious 16 years ago because I wanted to do it properly. Independent, focused, built on relationships. Over the years we've supported founders, directors and investors through new office launches, leadership hires and full team builds — always within recruitment firms and executive search businesses working construction and manufacturing desks. That niche is not a constraint. It's where the depth is.

What happened in 2025
In late 2025, I was diagnosed with necrotising fasciitis — a rare, serious and life-threatening condition that required emergency surgery and an extended period of recovery. It came without warning and changed everything, at least for a while.
Surviving it reshaped my perspective in ways I'm still processing. On resilience. On priorities. On what it means to have the right people around you when things get hard. Those aren't abstract qualities. They show up every day now — in how I work, how I have conversations, and how seriously I take the responsibility of helping someone make a move or helping a business make a hire.
Coming back — and going further
I'm back, and I'm bringing the team with me. We're growing the UK practice, expanding into the US market, and doing it with a clarity of purpose I didn't have before.
My neurodivergent brain has always meant I work differently — I go deep, I see patterns, I'm tenacious. Those qualities haven't changed. If anything they've been sharpened.

What drives the work
I love this industry. I love the moment when the right person walks into the right business and something shifts. I love helping founders build the teams that let them scale. I love the conversations — the honest ones, the difficult ones, the ones that change the direction of someone's career or a business's growth.
That's why Feeling Ambitious exists. And it's why, after everything, I'm still here — still ambitious, and more clear-eyed than ever about who I want to work with and why.
I work with people who are ambitious, values-driven and serious about growth. If that's you, I'd love to talk.
